We can talk and knit

The atmosphere is good at the cutting department of Ten Have Plant where Anthoinette, Beata, Diana, Gerda, Ingrid, Judith, Lianne, Loes, Louise, Magda, Margreet, Miranda, Silvia, Tanja, Willeke, Toos and Trudy cut cuttings from the marsh plants and then put them in trays with growing medium. We do this while talking, which is why there is a lot of fun. We work an average of about 20 hours spread over the week but we don’t go home until all the work is done. In the summer we are off for a longer period because then there is no cutting. ‘Without us no Ten Have Plant’, say the 17 ladies laughing, but with a wink. ‘We are at the beginning of the growing process and that means we have to do our job well because the plant has to continue growing in a tent for 6 weeks before it is potted up for the further process in the greenhouse.’

Continuing to work even after retirement age

It’s a lot of fun working at Ten Have Plant, we all agree. Most of them came in at a young age and stay until retirement. Trudy, Toos and Magda continue even after retirement because they can’t miss the work and each other. This is mainly because we take care of the work in the department together. We see it completely as our own store. Add up those years of experience of ours, it would be crazy if it didn’t work out, wouldn’t it?

We are really looking forward to the anniversary celebration in September, we are really looking forward to that. It’s great that the company’s 100th anniversary is being celebrated. Things are going very well at Ten Have Plant. We wish Dion, Rob and Vincent all the best for the future.
