Something beautiful has been growing here for more
than 100 years

Growing with attention. That is what we have been doing for more than 100 years. Of course with more surface area, smarter automated processes and better ergonomic conditions than when we started. But still with the same attention. For plant, relations, employees and partners and the world around us. Only in this way does something beautiful grow.

Giving our plants optimal attention is only possible because we automate as much work around the plants as possible. So we have more time to experiment with new varieties, stronger varieties, even more beautiful varieties. We are constantly looking at what we can improve. To the quality of our plants, the working conditions, sustainability and more. But we only innovate when it really serves a purpose. Progress should not throw us back. It’s not for nothing that we are a thriving family business, driven by continuity.

You can see that in our loyal people, some have been with us for more than 20 years. Many stay here until retirement. Even our fathers still come to help from time to time. Where do you come across that anymore? Even though developments are rapid, we move with the times and even lead the way in terms of innovations: we know that we can only do it together. That is why we stay close to ourselves. We value a good working atmosphere and good relationships. Attention. A good basis for another 100 years.

Ten Have Plant over the years

Ten Have begins in the open air. After World War II, Anton ten Have started growing grapes in Honselersdijk. Later he added many different potted plants, including cyclamen. These were grown in handmade terracotta pots and taken to the auction by barge.

In the 1970s, twin brothers Ton and Theo take over the business, build greenhouses, grow to 1.2 acres, to specialize in campanula in the 1980s – over time also for outdoors. They also start breeding and propagating the Campanula, after receiving a bag of seed from Japan. Not without success! This was continued by their sons Rob, Vincent and Dion in 1997.

Our company has grown through several acquisitions from neighbors into a modern enterprise of over 4 acres. We have gone from 1 entrepreneur to 3. To over 2.5 campanulas and over 500,000 cyclamen. And what about our newest addition the Tamarinde? Over 100 years Ten Have. A family business based on continuity and therefore far from outgrown.
